Smudging is to be performed by a person, usually American Indian, capable of communicating sincerely with the spirits of Mother Earth and beyond. The tradition was passed to worthy American Indians through generations. Today more people are finding that not only American Indians have the love and reverence for the spirit world; people of every race and creed are craving and cultivating this connection with Mother Earth. More people are discovering smudging as a way to create balance and positivity in any space.
